Government explained to tax deputies scope of tax modernization project

In a new session of the Finance Committee, the minister of the branch, Felipe Larraín, continued with the presentation of the tax modernization project (bulletin 12045).

In the opportunity, the Secretary of State advanced on issues such as the rules to avoid evasion, the strengthening of the Internal Revenue Service (SII) and formulas for settlement in pending lawsuits.

However, in the instance presided over by Deputy Pablo Lorenzini (DC), there were two issues that generated the greatest debate: the new tax on digital commerce and its applications; and the electronic ballot system that will replace the paper.

Regarding the latter, the Executive informed that a special application will be enabled that the merchants will be able to use, where the purchase record will be kept and from where the document can be sent to the clients. Among the objectives of the measure are to promote the formality of companies and reduce evasion by 1.5 points.
