Minister Jacek Czaputowicz participated in 10. CEPA Forum in Washington

Minister Jacek Czaputowicz participated Monday in the anniversary Forum, organized by the Center for European policy Analysis (CEPA) in Washington, DC. This year the conference, entitled “Winning the 21st Century – the great Strength and Solidarity,” is dedicated to transatlantic relations, with special reference to the interests and perspectives of the region East Central Europe.

Together with the Vice-Prime Minister of Romania Ana Ritchall and Ministers of foreign Affairs of Lithuania and Slovakia – Linas Linkevičiusem and Miroslavem Lajčákiem, the head of Polish diplomacy Jacek Czaputowicz participated in the discussion of the nt. relations between NATO and the EU. Poland shares the goals of foreign policy with other member countries of the European Union, but is trying to convince that we need to remember the importance of the transatlantic relationship. NATO and the EU should not compete with each other, they should complement. For Poland and the countries of our region the most important component of transatlantic cooperation is security. Without the participation of the United States would not be able to stop Russia, – said the Minister Czaputowicz. During the one-day conference will be also touched upon the issues of defense spending, the situation in Ukraine, energy security and hybrid threats. This year the Forum is also attended by defense Minister of Romania, Minister of energy of Lithuania, many Deputy Ministers, representing the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, special envoy of the UN Secretary General on Ukraine Kurt Walker and Professor Timothy Garton ash.
