WPeMatico

After several weeks of work, we were finally able to publish the new version of WPeMatico along with the Professional and Full Content extensions.
We’ve fixed several issues reported by our users and customers, and we are also starting to implement several filters and new, important features that are unique to WPeMatico, making version 1.5 the best version yet.

Among the new features, we can highlight taking the slug from the permalink source, something that improves SEO considerably. And also that the Strip links function doesn’t delete the links from the iframes, deleting some videos in the process. Now you can choose where to delete from, and where not to.

We still have lots of ideas and for the upcoming releases. We’ll focus on continuing to improve the ways to obtain remote coding (charset for international sites and feeds), the stability of the plugin and its performance when it comes time to execute the campaigns, and when getting items from feeds to improve the time and use of resources. Among other things, we’ll be working on these in upcoming releases in the near future.

We have been receiving many requests for extensions, so we will start to work on those and I think that very soon we’ll have quotas, multilanguage, feeds in sync and much more!

 

Professional Add-on

Several improvements have been made to the add-on Professional. Support was added for multipage feeds with the format used by WordPress and a floating window to add all the advanced functions for each individual feed. Plus, a new function has been implemented to delete part of the content starting from a given word or phrase to the end.

Full Content Add-on

In the add-on Full Content, we’ve improved the treatment of open-graph images and added options and conditions of use for images, plus fixes for several reported bugs, particularly with the coding of international sites, among others.

 

In any case, there are many different stages and environments, so we will continue to follow up with our users to keep resolving any issues that may arise and work towards perfecting the plugin even more.

After installing and activating the two add-ons, a new item will appear in the WPeMatico menu.

There, you can create pages for feeds very easily like the WordPress does.

Introduction to WPeMatico Polyglot

Our new Polyglot reeds the content of feeds or other sources in one language, and inserts it into your blog in another language automatically.

Of course, automatic translations aren’t perfect, but it is an excellent alternative to work in multiple languages. It supports up to 107 different languages, letting you choose the source and destination language of each article read for each campaign.

It works with the free version of WPeMatico, translating the contents of the items in the feeds, but it also works with the other extensions, such as Full Content or Facebook Fetcher, translating the texts obtained from each source.

Regarding the automatic translation engines, initially we are working with three of them: the API of Google Cloud Translator and Yandex, which need you to generate an API Key to use in the plugin, and on the other hand, an integrated function to use Google Translate as long as the volume of data sent isn’t too high. Although the Google Translate option is free and works very well, there could be limits imposed by Google in the future, and as some of these translation engines tend to have a cost per word, we have completely optimized the sending of words to be translated for each request.

Plus, we have left everything read to add new translation engines and the possibility of using different engines in each campaign, so that you could use some Google with some feeds and others with Yandex at the same time, on the same blog.

It’s only been a month since the release of the latest version and we’re released a new one full of new things and improved functionality.

For version 1.6, we’ve noticeably optimized the performance in the checking of duplicate titles by almost 80% taking advantage of WordPress’ indexes and without losing any functionality.

We have noticeably improved the code and filters for the tags in the Post Templates feature. If you use these filters with external code, you should take a look at this because the old filters will stop working in the next version and the new ones will be implemented from now on.

In this version, a bug slipped past us unnoticed because it arose from a significant improvement in the code for the function that processes the post templates, but it was resolved almost immediately with the 1.6.1 release.

We are still expecting feedback as always, but this was a very important release with significant changes, and having had only one problem that was solved within hours of being made aware of it made us very content and with complete confidence to continue improving WPeMatico and its add-ons.

WPeMatico 1.6.4

It’s been a few months without news but with some updates in the middle. We are really with a lot of work.

By the other hand we’ve made a lot of changes, updates and so much more new things!

There are three updates of WpeMatico to talk about… we’re notably improving the plugin for autoblogging… and, just to tell a few things to all of you, we made:

• Added a wizard to create a campaign.  Finally we implement the tool to facilitate the work to the newbies. The wizard will pass the metaboxes one by one till finally complete all the steps and publish the campaign.  The best part is that it is useful also to modify the campaigns because it works individually in each campaign.
• Added feature “Order feed items by Date before process”.  It is useful to organize by date before process some feeds which came bad organized, making some items of the feed to be lose.
• Two functions added for images which allows get the URL without protocol​s and for some webs most moderns that keep the complete image in the tag attribute srcset, now you will get the big image from there.
• An important problem has been solved verifying SSL with simplepie, making WPeMatico can work with the HTTPS feeds.
• A subscription form to our news was added in the welcome page of the plugin.
• We change the Debug section Info in Settings to System Status and we improved noticeably the system info section.
• We keep solving incompatibilities with third parties plugins that their codes interfere with WPematico.
• Improved accuracy in duplicate checking.
• The WordPress reviews are back in the Settings page.

On July 18 was released WPeMatico 1.7.1

1..7.1 has a new feature to include the <picture> html tag to get images and more important, it fixes a bug in the 1.7 version launched 10 days ago for PHP versions lower than 5.3.

1.7 is a mayor version with many new features and requires updating the version of Professional Addon to 1.7.1v.

Among many improvements in its code and other minor things, the 1.7 Version includes the following:

Mp3 and Mp4 Files

In addition to including the embedded links, the version 1.7 includes a full support for MP3 and MP4 media files.
Audio and video files inserted in the contents of the source can be downloaded and attached to the published post.
Compatible with audio widget and video widget inserted in WordPress 4.8. Only take care with the size of the files.
