Make me Feed “Good” is an addon for WPeMatico that lets you create RSS 2.0 feeds from external sites on your WordPress blog, regardless of whether they have their own feed or not. This tool can work in conjunction with the WPeMatico Full Content addon and create the items from the feeds with the full content…

Make Me Feed version 2.0 has several new useful and interesting features.

Inspector

This new feature added in this version allows you to select the exact CSS class from a popup in order to extract it and add it to the ID or Class field which indicates the permalink for each item.

The inspector may not be completely accurate, but it will definitely help determine the correct ID of the anchor required to obtain the permalinks with the necessary titles to create each item in the feed.

If you also have the Full Content addon, you can add the full content to each item in the feed, or better yet, if the feed will be used with WPeMatico, you can leave just the titles in the feed and get the full content from the campaign before inserting the posts.

New cache system

The second feature is the new cache system for the created feeds. The caches work independently for the list of URLs obtained from the source site, as well as for the content of each particular item. As it is very unlikely for this content to change, a cache is generated that saves the content of each item, thus avoiding many unnecessary queries to the original site and greatly improving performance.

In order to be able to refresh them and change their values, all management and control of the Time to Live (TTL) for these caches is individualized by feed and found on the edit screen of each feed created.

Cookies

Another thing to highlight is that Make Me Feed now supports cookies from the main site from which you obtain the links for a feed. Initially, they will be recorded as temporary files within the plugin, and the addon will use them when querying the source site. All of this happens automatically; you don’t have to do anything.

August is here, and with it we bring a whole bunch of useful updates and improvements to many WPeMatico products. We even have a new (free!) addon for you!

New features and filters in WPeMatico Core (free version)

A helpful new feature has been added in the free version of WPeMatico that allows you to choose an image from the source article by order. In other words, automatically choose the second image from the source article you have fetched from, or the fifth image, etc.

New filters have also been added so that you can process the post’s featured image by attachment ID.

This update also makes some tweaks in the campaign logs for media files, resolves an issue with path redirections in the location header, and fixes a bug when deactivating the WP Cron.

WPeMatico Professional 1.7.3

A useful feature has been added to WPeMatico Professional so you can avoid having to upload the Default image over and over again.

Lots of improvements have been made to Full Content Addon, including a redesign of the Config Files Editor screen, Settings, and Full Content tab. A class Inspector has also been added to get the xPATH for the correct content in each domain. Finally, we have put in a new feature that allows you to insert a new blank txt config file from scratch.

New Addon: WPeMatico Hooks (Free!)

This new, free addon lets you add actions and filters that WPeMatico possesses in order to make personalized changes in the campaigns you execute, or actions that require a specific change in behavior.

Other updates

For WPeMatico SMTP 1.4, we have added a new code structure, completely redone from scratch. The  method has been changed to OpenSSL AES, and it is now compatible with the Core license updater. Finally, the problem with password autocomplete in Settings has been fixed.

In Make Me Feed, an issue with the new Inspector popup has been resolved.

We have a new structure for the main code in our Chinese Tags 1.3, redone from scratch, and the new updater from Core has also been added. Finally, the issue with PHP notices when installing with the PRO version has been fixed.

Remember! Make sure your license keys are loaded and activated in the Licenses tab of WPeMatico Settings!!

At last! We were very excited about this release of WPeMatico. In version 1.8, we have substantially improved the core of the WPeMatico plugin.

Facing  version 2.0, we already have many improvements in the performance and we’ve tweaked all the JavaScript codes and CSS styles considerably, and obsolete classes or functions have been replaced by their successors.

Many filters and new features have been added to the core, as well as many extensions. Because of this, in updating to this version of WPeMatico, any purchased extensions will also have to be updated to the latest version.

We’ve added a new tool: the Campaign Control Panel. You’ll find it in the metabox “Publish” when you edit the campaign.

The page of Settings->System Status was updated almost from scratch. Many missing but useful details were added for when you need to debug system tests and find server failures, and also to search for incompatibilities in the modules or plugins.

We’ve corrected a lot of things in the Campaign Wizard pop-up because it was unstable and ugly.

In the professional version, a button was placed in the feed URL row that opens a pop-up for that feed’s own options. In previous versions, it was only enabled when the multi-page feed option was activated, as some users are already aware, but now we have added the option “Force feed” in the modal window, to allow it to be used when the feed checking gives an error (in addition to being able to continue adding  more individual functions for every feed in the future).

Apart from all that, when you install the Professional add-on, the exportation of campaigns is activated and you can choose which campaigns to include in the debug file when sending a support ticket.

WPeMatico 1.8.1

* Added “Find in title” option in the Words to Categories feature.
This option allows you to assign a category to the new post only if the word is found in the title of the source article.

* Tweaks in Campaign Control Panel behavior in new campaigns.
The Campaign Control Panel options have different behavior depending on the status of the campaign. In other words, when a campaign runs, the “Run Once” button turns green, and the “Start/Activate Campaign Scheduler” button changes permanently to red, indicating that the campaigns are active and scheduled to run on the date/time in red. The “Stop and Deactivate this Campaign” button is available to be clicked to stop the campaign. With “Reset Post Count”, you can reset all counters to zero and also delete the last campaign log (be careful, because there is no way to undo this). The “Delete Hash Code for Duplicates” button erases the hash code used by the duplicates control to allow fetching of the same posts; this is very useful to debug campaign behaviors to fetch the same posts multiple times until you get exactly what you want. And finally, the “See Last Log” button, as its name suggests, allows you to see a pop-up with the details of the last campaign fetch and the events for every post obtained .

* Fixed “Draft” status in new campaigns.
This was an issue that appeared in the last major 1.8 update.  It has been fixed in this version, and campaigns should no longer have the Draft status when they are saved.

WPeMatico Cache 1.4

* Added an option to delete all the cache from the front-end in the WordPress admin bar.
This option allows you to clear the cache of the entire website quickly and easily from the front-end; to see it, you must activate the “Enable Cache” option oin the WPeMatico Cache Settings page. If you can’t see it, you can update any post, and then the option will appear in the WordPress admin bar.

* A quick action “Clear Cache” was added to each row of the lists of cacheable post types to allow clearing the cache only for a particular post, page, etc.

Other minor changes were:

* Tweaks in the creation of cache for taxonomies pages.
* Tweaks in the license page, hiding the renewal links for lifetime licenses.
* Fixed version number after missing 1.3 in the previous release.
