Armed Forces to support elections in 13 states

They are: Acre, 11 locations; Maranhão, 72; Piauí, 122; Rio de Janeiro, 69; Amazonas, 26; Mato Grosso, 19; Mato Grosso do Sul, 4; Pará, 60; Rio Grande do Norte, 97; Tocantins, 12 and Ceará, 5. The assistance of the Armed Forces was also requested to offer logistical support to the Electoral Justice, as well as the transportation of personnel and ballot boxes. The military carries out this task accompanied by Electoral Justice personnel. In total, this support will occur in 101 locations in five states. In Acre, 41 locations will be served; in the Amazon, 25; in Amapá, 5; in Mato Grosso do Sul, 4 and in Roraima, 26. Requests for support from the Armed Forces are formulated by the Regional Electoral Courts at the TSEMais of 28,000 military personnel who must take part in the 2018 elections. The GVA is a military activity similar to the Law and Order Assurance (GLO) missions. However, the GVA is used specifically to maintain the normality of public security at polling places and verification during the electoral process, in the places where the TSE requests. After the TSE analysis and deliberation, the demands are passed on to the Ministry of Defense , the body responsible for planning and executing the actions undertaken by the Armed Forces.
