Veterans affairs Canada invites you to public events to mark the 100th anniversary of the battle of the Canal du Nord, which took place during the hundred days of Canada, when the First world War, and to pay tribute to the recipient of the Victoria Cross, Milton F. Gregg.

Lieutenant Milton F. Gregg, of New Brunswick, was awarded the Victoria Cross for bravely led his unit through the barbed wire not cut, despite having been wounded twice, to clear the enemy trenches during the offensive of canada.

On Friday 28 September 2018, the Vimy Foundation will present a series of lectures celebrating the centenary of the First world War, Dr. Lee Windsor of the Gregg Centre, an exhibition of photos enlarged and colorized the First world War as well as the short film of the Foundation, Vimy found.

On Saturday 29 September 2018, the program will include a military ceremony at dusk with an offering of traditional local aboriginal community. A guard composed of members of the canadian armed Forces across Canada of which regiments fought during the hundred days of Canada, as well as the music of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and the music of the 3rd field artillery Regiment, will also participate in the activity.
