In the framework of a study pharmaco-epidemiological carried out by the health Insurance on 250 000 women exposed to cyproterone acetate (a drug Androcur and generic), the results of this study suggest that the risk of tumour (meningioma) is multiplied by 7 for women treated by large doses over a long period (over 6 months) and by 20 after 5 years of treatment.

Given these new data indicate that the risk increases as a function of the duration of use and dosage of this drug is used, in particular in case of a problem of excess body hair, the national security Agency of medicines and health products (MSNA) should issue soon new recommendations.

In the meantime patients with questions about their treatment are invited to consult their doctor or their pharmacist, but in no case must decide whether to stop without the advice of their doctor.

Since then he has worked again as a self-employed family physician in a community practice in Bergün. Mark Dominik serves Utiger, President of the Foundation for education health Central Switzerland (Higher school of health) up to about 2020, and is a Board member of the homes Kriens AG and the lab company Bioanalytica AG. He replaced the end of 2018, resigning Dr. Christian Schär.
