On September 18, 2018, correctional officers at Donnacona Institution, a maximum security federal institution, seized prohibited items and unauthorized items from the institution. In total, the institutional value of the seized products is approximately $ 41,500.

This seizure is the result of concerted efforts by correctional officers, the canine team and security intelligence officers.

Among the items seized are 39 grams of opioids, 5.5 grams of hashish, a cell phone, SIM cards, cell phone chargers, USB sticks and several small arms.

Since September 27, 2018, the Donnacona Institution is partially closed and the routine has been modified to ensure the safety of the institution, staff, staff and inmates. Normal operations and visits will resume when it is deemed safe to do so.
