The Prime Minister brings together the actors of the agricultural and food sector to ensure that they will take full advantage of the new legal framework defined by the law from the EGA. Edouard PHILIPPE, Prime Minister, received today, in the presence of Stéphane TRAVERT, Minister of Agriculture and Food, and Delphine GENY-STEPHANN, Secretary of State to the Minister of Economy and Finance, actors in the food chain a few days before the final vote by the National Assembly the bill for the balance of commercial relations in the agricultural and food sector and a healthy, sustainable and accessible to all. The Prime Minister recalled that the Government had taken its responsibilities by proposing a bill establishing a new framework for contractual relations in the agricultural and food sector. This new framework reflects the compromise reached by the States General of Food for a better remuneration of the farmers. Stéphane TRAVERT was able to testify to the full engagement of the interprofessions, which he met at regular intervals for one year. He underlined the necessary mobilization of the actors to use the relevant indicators of costs of production and valorization of the markets.Delphine GENY-STEPHANN indicated that beyond the law, the consultation on the ordinances continued with the objective of an implementation for the next trade negotiations. The Secretary of State informed in particular that the legislative provision relating to the action for liability for transfer prices unreasonably low would be put to the consultation next week.The Prime Minister also recalled that the Government will remain attentive to the conditions of conduct of commercial negotiations and will mobilize the mechanisms provided by law to control and punish abusive behavior.Contacts: 01 42 75 50 78/79 – communication@pm.gouv.fr
