By 116 votes in favor and one abstention, the Chamber of Deputies approved resolution 167 that asks the Executive to send a bill that establishes intervention plans and mitigation measures in areas contaminated with heavy polymetals of national scope.
The text indicates that there are unfulfilled state obligations and that the need for a polymetal law, in various territories of our country, has been a historical and permanent demand.
It also adds that the State, on the other hand, has remained indifferent to such demands, leaving its citizens defenseless and powerless in the face of the destruction of the environment and the disastrous consequences thereof.

The petition was presented to the Chamber by deputies Catalina Pérez (RD), Marcela Hernando (PRSD), Gastón Saavedra (PS), Esteban Velásquez (FRVS), Diego Ibáñez (IND), Carolina Marzán (PPD), Daniel Verdessi (DC) ), Félix González (PEV), Camila Flores (RN) and
