The Canada revenue Agency and the canadian Association of filers of income (CCRA), an association made up of leaders in the field of services from tax preparation and software engineering in Canada, have jointly signed a plan of cooperation concerning the digital services aimed at improving the services offered to Canadians.
The main objective of this collaboration is to provide and promote services, electronic tax filing innovative, safe and practical. The plan sets out the general direction, defines the roles and responsibilities of the Agency and of the CCRA in accordance with the single-window approach of the government of Canada (UnGC) – the government-wide strategy to seamlessly integrate the services of the GC in the digital platforms that exist for Canadians – and highlights of the plans and objectives of high level.
In order to improve services offered to canadian taxpayers and to support the CCRA in its innovative efforts, the Agency will continue to make improvements to core systems and initiatives such as the Mail online, pre-Populate my statement, ADC express and re-Transmit it. The ARC will also increase the availability and improve the interface of its applications, in conformity with united nations global compact, in order to allow the CCRA to better integrate its software products to the systems of the Agency. Meetings will be held periodically with the CCRA and the software industry to exchange ideas, share points of view and to provide clarification as to the goals and priorities.
The CCRA recognizes the importance of the ARC to provide services for filing of returns of income easy-to-use. The digital services of the Agency provide a greater range of options of production of income tax returns fast and safe for Canadians. To this end, the CCRA will work in collaboration with the Agency in order to increase awareness and encourage Canadians to adopt digital services such as Mail online, pre-Populate my statement, ADC express and re-Transmit it.
It is an absolute priority for both the Agency and for the CCRA to assist Canadians in Northern and remote areas, where access to a computer, the Internet and the services of preparation of income tax returns is more limited. In the framework of this agreement, they will work together to offer services and products targeted additional, in order to reach these important communities of taxpayers.
