2018. on 4. in September the State minister Raimonds Vējonis work in Latvia in a solemn ceremony in the Riga castle was accredited by the Finnish, the Polish, Norwegian and Slovak, in exceptional and authorised ambassadors.During a call with the Republic of Finland, the extraordinary and authorized ambassador Marju Morning Korpivāru (H. E. Ms Marja Riitta Korpivaara) the State president said the two countries close and constructive bilateral relations, as well as the good cooperation of the European Union (EU) and the regional cooperation context. In both countries, significant cooperation in the protection, as well as a hybrid of hazard reduction, where both countries have significant international expertise. Finland is an important trading partner, so the future is supported by the organisation for economic cooperation development, attracting new Finnish investments. Raimonds Vējonis also noted its close cultural ties and people-to-people-to-people contacts, in particular, embedded in both national century during the celebration.Meeting with Poland, the Republic of extraordinary and authorized ambassador Monica Mihališinu (H. E. Mr. Kristian Ødegaard) the president thanked for the historically close and friendly of the two countries relationship, including close cooperation in defence, economic and cultural areas. Latvia welcomes the high-level visits, exchange of, for example, the Norwegian kroņprinča and kroņprinceses official visit to Latvia in April this year.
