On Tuesday, September 25, 2018, President Raimonds Vējonis met with the leaders of the World Federation of Free Latvians in Riga Castle. The PBLA informed the President about the measures taken to promote the participation of Latvian citizens living abroad in the 13th Saeima elections and indicated that the compatriots are aware of the significance of this election in the further development of Latvia. At the same time, the PBLA pointed out that it is essential that the work on drafting the Diaspora Law be completed. The State President and PBLA representatives agreed that in today's geopolitical situation, both domestic and foreign, should actively work in order to strengthen our national security.PBLA includes the American-Latvian Association, the Association of South American and Caribbean Latvians, the European Association of Latvians, the Russian Latvian Congress, the Latvian Association in Australia and New Zealand, and the Latvian National Association in Canada.
