Vice President Teva Rohfritsch received Wednesday afternoon Alice Feslier Holmes, Deputy Consul General of New Zealand in New Caledonia, accompanied by the Honorary Consul of New Zealand in French Polynesia, Eric Malmezac.

With this initial contact, the Deputy Consul General wanted to contribute to developing the links between our two countries a little more, but also to discuss the next steps to be taken in relation to this multidisciplinary cooperation. Alice Feslier Holmes wanted to share business opportunities between the two countries and to collect from the government the priority projects to implement in concert.

The Vice-President also underlined the importance of this cooperation for the two Pacific countries with regard to regional issues, and welcomed the progress of the "Tahitian Village" project, carried out notably by Maori investors. He recalled the need to develop regional trade and economic relations, so that economic growth benefits as much as possible to the Pacific countries as a priority.

Indeed, the Pacific region is one of the most promising economic development basins globally, both from a collective point of view for the region, but also for our respective local economies. The Vice-President has particularly emphasized the desire to achieve cooperation on maritime vocational training, and hopes to benefit our Polynesians from the expertise and techniques of our cousins ​​New Zealand.
